Itinerary
-
Fly into Bozeman and settle in with a shuttle transfer to your hotel. That evening, meet your fellow Toothies and the full Tooth and Claw crew at a welcome dinner — the first chance to trade trip excitement and maybe a few bear stories before the safari begins.
-
Head south to Gardiner, Montana, gateway to Yellowstone’s wildlife-rich Northern Range. As afternoon light softens, set out on your first safari through this legendary landscape — home to some of the park’s most consistently visible wolf packs and grizzly activity, plus resident bison herds grazing the valley floor. Settle into your Gardiner hotel with dinner to close out the day.
-
An early start takes you through Hayden Valley then south to the park’s east road, through one of Yellowstone’s wildest and most remote grizzly habitats — and a great spot to take in wolves, elk, bison, and whatever else the valley has to offer that morning. Spotting scopes up, engines off — this is patient, rewarding wildlife watching in a valley few visitors ever see. Return to Gardiner for dinner.
-
Another morning safari through the Northern Range, chasing fresh tracks and pack movements while keeping an eye out for the bison, elk, and pronghorn that call this valley home. In the early evening, join Kira Cassidy — Yellowstone Wolf Project research associate — for a special presentation on the science and history of the park’s wolves, followed by dinner at the Wonderland Cafe in Gardiner.
-
One last morning in the field, making the most of every remaining hour with wolves and bears in their element. Then wind down in style: a farewell dinner at the historic Chico Hot Springs Resort.
-
Transfer back to Bozeman for your flight home — with a memory card full of photos and stories that’ll take a while to top.
